A Live Stream Concert with Yalda Davis & Rachel Chaplin
Cello & Oboe
Sunday 25 April, 2021 | 5pm
We are delighted to announce the resumption of live concerts, we call them IMPROMPTU CONCERTS offering some relief from the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic.
Yalda Davis (cello) and Rachel Chaplin (oboe) have been friends since their teenage years in the National Youth Orchestra of Great Britain. Their musical journeys diverged whilst Rachel spent time specialising in historical oboes, performing with English Baroque Soloists, La Serenissima and other early music groups. Yalda meanwhile delved into conservation work, running a B&B and her current project of playing the cello in all of Suffolk’s 500 medieval churches – and writing a book about it! Happily the last few years have seen them playing together again, spurred on not least by a very special pigeon, more to be revealed during the concert.
They are delighted to perform a concert which will include beautiful music by J.S. Bach and Frank Bridge, alongside some quirky originals.
Watch out for our third Impromptu concert on July 4th with live streaming only which will feature the famous CHRIS ELDRED JAZZ TRIO celebrating America, the heartland of jazz on Independence Day !
